1,000 tastes, one system, no compromises: nunc. at IFA 2026
At IFA, Next Level Coffee served over 1,000 coffees, each one tailored to the individual taste of the visitors. At the world's largest consumer tech trade show, this proved that innovation and great coffee don't require compromise, always putting the human at the centre.
At the nunc. booth, over 1,000 visitors took a short quiz to find their individual Coffee Personality, and walked away with a drink built exactly around their taste. The turnout made one thing clear once again: coffee isn't just a means to an end, it's something deeply personal and emotional.
Until now, every system has asked something in return. Capsule machines and fully automatic machines are easy to use without any prior knowledge and deliver consistent results, but that convenience comes at the cost of quality. Portafilter machines, originally built for professional use, are designed for ideal extraction across different flavor profiles, but without the right expertise, they mostly lead to frustration. And anyone who wants to switch between different tastes without resetting the parameters for every new bean usually ends up back with capsules: no fresh beans, but a noticeable amount of waste.
For Next Level Coffee, technology was never meant to be an end in itself, but meant to enable real human value. That's why, from day one, nunc. was built around people rather than around technology, giving rise to a new category: one that no longer forces trade-offs, but makes individual preference genuinely accessible. Not an existing machine made more convenient with digital features, but a holistically designed ecosystem that invites people to experiment, celebrates the ritual, and consistently removes the friction points that used to get in the way.
Next Level Coffee used its presence at IFA to make that commitment, and everything it makes possible, tangible and tastable for every visitor. One person with the "Classic Act" personality might prefer a darker roast, while the next, more of a "Curious Connoisseur," was ready to try a light roast with strawberry notes. The remarkable part: for nunc., that switch is a non-issue, it happens seamlessly, with no manual adjustments, and without giving up flavor. For visitors, that was the real standout.
"It never made sense to us that you'd have to choose," says Dominik Maier, Co-Founder and Managing Director at Next Level Coffee. "With nunc., we built a system that doesn't force compromises and opens up possibilities that simply didn't exist before. Every day, we see customers use those possibilities to explore the full range of coffee's flavor world for the first time."
